Anonymous asked: Hey! I love your blog. I can relate to everything because I have been dancing ballet for 7 years. I quit a couple years ago, but I want to join again. I'm just scared to because I feel like the people (classmates) will look down on me because I quit and I won't be as good or in shape as before. Help?

Anonymous asked: I just started pointe a couple of months ago and I am finding it difficult to stay en pointe for more than maybe a minute. Do you have any tips for me to help me strengthen my ankles? Thanks!

Anonymous asked: my friend just joined dance this year, and it is my first year of pointe, and she joined my pointe class. My studio is pretty easy so they just let anyone join any classes. Is it wrong not to not be super duper happy that she is in my class?

jilliankrenz asked: I've been dancing since I was 2 and I'm currently still dancing and I plan on being a professional ballerina is there anything I can do to become more flexible and be able to do a better pirouettes?
kuklarusskaya asked: To the Harid Conservatory Hopeful, Harid is a Vaganova based intensive. The style is very very pure and strict. The best advice I can say is to RELENTLESSLY watch the videos of Vaganova classes on youtube. Watch their port de bras, style, etc. The method is a lot slower, and emphasizes absolute perfection in every move. No perfect tendu? Then you cannot do a degage. That's Vaganova. But learn...
Anonymous asked: Hey in another question you said you had a video of all the stretches you use to get more flexible how can i find that? :)
foreverrisallineed asked: Okay, so i've been dancing since I was 3 but I quit when I was 10. I'm now 16 and I miss it like crazy. I have been planning on going back since the 8th grade, I'm now a sophomore. I was suppose to go back last year but my mama and gram didn't help me get a hold of my old dance teacher. This year I missed the date to sign up (when I realized that I cried...) but next year I am...
balletmylifepge-deactivated2011 asked: I was out of ballet for 4 months because I was injured. I just got back and I am pretty behind, I have alot of work to do. I'm considering trying out for The Haird Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida. It's a very competative even just for an Intensive. I also really want to go to a cheap but very good and well recognized boarding that focus on ballet. I'm stressing out for getting...

wearingmyheartonmysleeve asked: in regards to the "frog stretch" that's more of a stretch to improve your turnout not your flexibility really. but it is a great stretch!
mayidanceinyourpants asked: i just wanted to share some things that might be helpful or interesting to someone else. running is actually bad for dancers because it shortens your muscles. this doesnt mean to not run, but you have to find a balance (my dance teacher said this in class one day) also, to the person asking about flexibility, theres this stretch where you lay on your stomach and fold your legs kind of like a frog....
